2018 Hunting and Trapping Seasons

2917

Hunting and trapping are permitted on much of the land in the Mount Agamenticus region. While hunting accidents are very rare, please note the following to keep you and your pets safe:

  • Wear bright clothing like blaze orange.
  • Remember that bikes are quiet and fast; they can surprise hunters.
  • To avoid any traps, please keep to the trails.
  • Protect your dogs with a blaze orange vest or bandana. Keep dogs on leash and on the trail; traps may be baited with meat. Please note that the town of York has a town wide leash and animal waste control requirement. Dogs must be secured with a hand-held device (lead, chain, or cord) not longer than 15′ at all times.
