The Maine Trails Program (MTP) is a statewide initiative to support the design and development of trails for outdoor recreation and active transportation. Created by the Maine Legislature in 2024, the program is administered by the Bureau of Parks and Lands (BPL) within the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. With $30 million in state funding available through 2034, the program supports motorized, nonmotorized, and multi-use trails across Maine.
Learn more about MTP through the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands.
Workshops are being hosted across the state to help introduce how this program will work and how you can apply for this funding. Two workshops are being hosted right here at the summit of Mount Agamenticus on Thursday, May 22 at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. You can register for a workshop here! If you’re interested in attending the workshop at Mount A, click “Register for an In-Person Workshop,” fill out the form, and be sure to select one of the two “Mt. Agamenticus Learning Lodge” timeslots!
