Seeking Lodge Docents for 2025

39

Looking for a summer volunteer opportunity? The Mount Agamenticus Conservation Program is seeking reliable, outgoing, and dedicated individuals to serve as Learning Lodge Docents for the 2025 Field Season (and beyond)!

The Learning Lodge is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 – 4 PM from Memorial Day weekend to Indigenous Peoples Day and is home to educational displays, hands-on activities, and our gift shop.

Each weekend, Docents work with our Outreach and Education Coordinator to help greet visitors, answer questions, provide trail recommendations, and explain conservation efforts. Other tasks include light cleaning, refreshing educational displays, assisting with drop-in programming, and helping in the Gift Shop.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please reach out directly to: ndensmore@yorkmaine.org.

Familiarity with the Mount A region is of course a plus, but training and answers to our most Frequently Asked Questions will be provided to anyone willing to learn!

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and be able to work a minimum of two 4-hour weekend shifts each month from May through October. We are looking to expand Visitor Center hours this season, and additional help on weekdays from the end of June through the end of August may be needed, as well! This position does require a background check.
