Upcoming Drop-in Program: Milkweed Seed Bomb Workshop and Distribution

248

Part of the Town of York’s commitment to the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge this year is to facilitate or support a milkweed seed collection and propagation effort here in town. As a result of our recent Seed Drive, we have plenty of Common Milkweed seeds to distribute to residents of York and beyond!

Join us here at the summit of Mount A on Friday, November 3 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM and Saturday, November 4 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM for a drop-in seed bomb workshop. We also will have loose seeds to distribute if that’s your preference! We’ll be set up on the western side of the summit by the barn. Join us any time!

All seeds were collected from native Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) plants growing in York County. Planting instructions and information about cold stratification will be available at both events.

This workshop is free to the public. If you are planning on only dropping in to collect seeds or attend the workshop, please park in the coned spaces by the barn. You will not be charged an admission fee.
