Wetland Hike with the Center for Wildlife

611

The Mount Agamenticus region has the highest concentration of vernal pools in the state and is home to three threatened and endangered species. Join Mt. A staff and Center for Wildlife educators and live turtle ambassador animals to learn about seasonal life cycles, critical habitats and the difference between facultative and obligate species.

This program will start at Center for Wildlife and we will then connect to the Mount Agamenticus trail system for a hike to explore vernal pools, ephemera streams and wetlands. We will access the Mt. A trails via Porcupine Trail, rated moderate difficulty. Please wear appropriate footwear (it is mud season here in Southern Maine!). Dependent upon group size, we will split the group to conduct both “easy” and “moderate” hikes and explore vernal pools in our area.

This program is open to all ages and pre-registration is required.

Where: The Center for Wildlife [375 Mountain Road, Cape Neddick ME] When: Saturday, April 16th, 10:00am-12:00pm
Info/Registration: Registration is required. $12. Please register through the Center for Wildlife (outside link opens in a new tab).
